On 17th July 2012 the Irish Government decided to cease restrictions on labour market access for Romanian and Bulgarian citizens. This takes immediate effect. The restrictions were due to end on 1st January 2014 but the Government decided to bring this forward.
Romanian and Bulgarian citizens now have the same rights as other EU citizens to access the Irish labour market.
